7 Easy Fixes to fix Bluetooth Keeps Stopping Android Phone
Bluetooth is an important technology to know about because it's everywhere. It allows you to transfer data from one device to another wirelessly, so ensure that your Bluetooth is enabled on all of your devices! But sometimes Bluetooth keeps stopping android phones randomly or due to some technical problems, which can be fixed by following some methods.
If you are looking for the fix, then this is exactly what I have in this post.
The main reason for Bluetooth keeps stopping on android phones is that there might be an issue with the internal hardware.
Not only this, some users have even faced bluetooth keeps disconnecting and reconnecting on Android. Bluetooth sucks sometimes!
(very frustrating)
It could also happen due to a software problem or because of obstructions in the way, but these are less likely factors. Some of the other reasons are:
Device is out of range
Outdated Bluetooth driver
Insufficient power to Bluetooth device and phone connection
Too many devices are connected simultaneously (connecting more than two devices at a time interrupts communication)
The contact app on your Android may be corrupt or outdated
Following is a quick infographic that illustrates the 7 fixes you need to try to resolve this “stopping” issue.
Awesome!
Let’s check the fixes in detail.
What are the Fixes for Android Bluetooth Keeps Stopping?
Fix #1: Restart or Reboot the phone
Sometimes, a simple restart can solve the problem very easily. It is worth giving this fix a try before you go to any other solutions that could be more time-consuming for your device. In most cases, restarting or reboot of the phone will fix Bluetooth stopping on the android phone.
Fix #2: Restart the Bluetooth Connection
Restart the Bluetooth connection by turning it off and then back on again; this should work in most cases. If not, try one of these other fixes that are more time-consuming to your device (but they also have a higher chance of working).
If this did not fix the “Unfortunately Bluetooth has stopped” issue, hop on to the next fix.
Fix #3: Perform an Update of your Android phone
Go to Settings -> About phone. Tap on the “System updates” tab and tap on the update to install any pending software patches that may be available for your device.
If this does not work, you can also go to Setting-> System Updates -> Check now or Install now button (if a new patch is available). You might need an internet connection for this operation.
Fix #4: Clear Data and Cache for the Bluetooth app
Open “Settings” and go to Apps -> All apps -> Bluetooth (or follow this path: Settings->Apps & notifications->App info). Tap on Clear data, then tap OK or Force stop if you are prompted to do so.
Clear Cache periodically, and it will help you to keep your phone running smoothly. Clear Cache will help to fix Bluetooth issues. Go to “Settings” -> then tap on the “Storage.” Tap onto Clear Cache for Bluetooth app problem (just an example).
Quit the Bluetooth app and open it again, this should fix your problem of “Bluetooth Keeps stopping” android phone! Did this solution work?
Fix #5: Perform Factory Reset
Go to Settings -> General Management -> Reset options. Find the “Factory data reset” option and tap on it, then tap again on the Reset phone if you want this operation to be done.
This will erase all your personal information from the device and may take a few minutes to complete its operations.
Check on your phone if you are running the latest driver for your Bluetooth adapter by going to Settings -> System updates -> Software update (make sure that “automatically download” is enabled).
Fix#7: Take the help of a Third-party software
“Bluetooth fix repair” program from Google Play is a good fix. The program will automatically detect firmware versions.
If your phone and headphones have a matching Bluetooth version, the app can update your connection to make it stable again. Connect devices with Bluetooth turned on. Then click “Update” -> wait for the device installation confirmation message from the system (e.g., Device driver installed successfully)

I’m not sure what the cause of this is, but it doesn’t hurt to try reconnecting via Bluetooth after a reboot just in case! You can also take off the battery for about ten seconds, put it back on, and see if anything changes with your Bluetooth connection. If it doesn’t work, you can also try to reset your phone to factory settings. Why does my Bluetooth keep disconnecting and reconnecting?
There are a few reasons why your Bluetooth might keep disconnecting and reconnecting. One possibility is that there is something obstructing the Bluetooth signal, such as metal objects like filing cabinets, refrigerators, metal doors, and metal studs in walls. Even water, marble, or huge tiles can be factors behind the weak connection. Another possibility is that the Bluetooth device is too far away from the receiver. Alternatively, the connection may be interrupted if there are multiple Bluetooth devices in the vicinity. If any of these factors are causing your Bluetooth to keep disconnecting and reconnecting, try moving the device closer to the receiver or removing any obstructions between them.
