There are a few ways to upgrade your PS4 eligible games to PlayStation 5. The easiest way is to upgrade them digitally. To upgrade digitally, just follow these steps:
1. Visit the Home screen of PS5
2. Scroll to Game Library
3. Here, you will find your games Collection that you can upgrade to the PS5 version
4. Go to Your Collection
5. Now Select & Tap on the Game to upgrade.
6. Look for three dots[…] beside the Download button
7. Go to the View Product page
8. Main page for the selected game will appear
9. Go to the right side of the screen to click the three dots[…]
10. A menu option appears where you will see the Game’s PS5 Upgrade Edition
11. Click on Download
In some of the games, it might not be so obvious. For example, if you have No Man’s Sky. Then go to the game’s main page and click the three dots to select “View Product.” The PS4 & PS5 versions of this game appear on the top. Click Download to get your desired version.
Let’s take another game. Go to the Search bar on the top and type the Game’s name. You will be able to see if the Game is providing a Free upgrade to PS5 right on your screen.
Press the Options and scroll down to Game Version to switch between PS4 and PS5 versions on the Game.
You’ll need to use the PlayStation Game Hub or PS Store to update your PS4 games.
People rarely use disc-based PS4 games nowadays. Most upgrade their games to PS5 digitally. But, if you want to upgrade your game disc, you can do so on a PS5 console.
Just follow these steps:
1. Open your existing account on the PS5 console and log in.
2. Insert the PS4 game disc and select “Game Hub.”
