Anyone who has ever owned a Bluetooth-enabled device knows the frustration of having the connection drop suddenly and unexpectedly. For many years, this was a common issue with Nissan cars, as owners would regularly find that their bluetooth would keep disconnecting. Nissan Bluetooth problems were flooding the internet as car owners of earlier versions were desperately searching for fixes.
However, Nissan has since made some major improvements to their bluetooth system, and the newer models no longer have this issue. In fact, bluetooth is now one of the most reliable features in recent Nissan car models. So if you’re looking for a car that won’t constantly lose its bluetooth connection, look no further than Nissan.
Nissan’s Connected Technology
Nissan’s Connected Technology is making waves in the automotive industry. The bluetooth-based system allows drivers to seamlessly integrate their smartphones with their car’s infotainment system.
This integration provides access to a wealth of features, including hands-free calling, music streaming, music playback and navigation.
With these apps, drivers can access all of their favorite smartphone features without ever taking their hands off the wheel.
The built-in navigation system also makes it easy to find your way around town, even if you’re unfamiliar with the area.
Whether you’re looking for a new way to stay connected on the go or simply want to reduce distractions for a safer ride, this new technology will not disappoint you.
The technology also features an impressive array of safety features, such as automatic collision notification and emergency assist.
This makes it an ideal choice for those who want to be safe and connected while on the road.
So to summarize here are some of the features of Nissan Connect :
You can now connect your smartphone to your Nissan car and enjoy the advantages of Bluetooth with NissanConnect.
Wireless calling without holding your phone.
Cords are a thing of the past when you listen to music wirelessly.
Your car will read your text messages to you, so you can keep your eyes on the road.
How to Pair your phone
To seamlessly pair your phone with your car, you need to check device compatibility. With the help of Nissan’s Bluetooth Device Compatibilty tool you can now check if your current car is compatible with the phone model as well as the carrier.
So here is how I checked my results to find if I have a compatible Nissan vehicle.
First, select the vehicle type. In my case I chose Maxima.
Then choose the year of the car. I chose 2019. Based on the year chosen, it will show you the options with or without Navigation.
For older variants, monochromatic display is also visible such as the 2013 version.
So select “with Navigation” for the year of vehicle and then proceed to choose the carrier and the model of the phone.
I am sure Nissan has invested a lot on this tool as it can drill down to any model for the chosen brand! I chose Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G and then the operating system as Android 12.
Voila!!! The tool displays the result on proceeding to Results whether your device and the vehicle is compatible.
For this test I specifically selected an older version of the car instead of 2022 to check if the tool can still detect the compatibility of the systems.
As bluetooth technology has advanced, so too has the integration of bluetooth-enabled devices with in-car infotainment systems. One of the most popular bluetooth-enabled devices is Apple CarPlay.
Apple’s CarPlay is a smarter and intuitive way to use your iPhone in the car, allowing you to focus on the road.
CarPlay is an infotainment system developed by Apple and designed to allow drivers to more safely interact with their iPhones while on the road. It was first introduced in 2014, and since then has been adopted by a number of car manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, Ford, Nissan, Jaguar Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, and Volvo. CarPlay allows drivers to make phone calls, send and receive text messages, listen to music, and get turn-by-turn navigation directions. It also supports a number of third-party apps, including Pandora, iHeartRadio, Spotify, WhatsApp, and Slack. CarPlay is available on all iPhone models from the 5s onward, and can be used with either a Lightning cable or via Bluetooth.
So if you are looking to buy a new car, make sure you check out these features in your chosen model.
Which Nissan vehicle support Apple CarPlay?
Nissan vehicle models sold before it introduced the CarPlay feature will not support Apple CarPlay.
As bluetooth technology continues to evolve, we can expect to see even more integration between bluetooth devices and car infotainment systems. This will make it even easier for drivers to stay connected and entertained while on the go.
Nissan bluetooth keeps disconnecting in car (FAQ)

NissanConnect is a three-year trial subscription available as a complimentary add-on on most Nissan cars and SUVs produced in 2020 or later, such as the Nissan Rogue Sport or Pilot. You need an active NissanConnect subscription to use the features thereon. So it is important to download the NissanConnect app on your device and then register. NissanConnect allows you to interact with your vehicle from your smartphone or tablet. Once you’ve enrolled in the program, you may start exploring its features.
How do I fix my Bluetooth in my Nissan?
If you have a Bluetooth device paired to your car, then after you start it should automatically connect to your phone. But often you might get the message “No Bluetooth device is connected”. There is no permanent fix to the issue on older variants of Nissan cars, however there is a workaround that can make your life easier. After you start your vehicle, press and hold the Power button of the infotainment system until the system reboots itself. The Nissan Logo appears and then on the top right corner beside the time, you should see the Bluetooth symbol.
Why is my Bluetooth connecting and then disconnecting?
There are a few reasons why your Bluetooth might be connecting and then disconnecting in your car. One possibility is that your phone is losing its Bluetooth signal when you’re driving. This can happen if you’re going too fast or if there’s something blocking the signal, like a metal plate in the car. Another possibility is that the car’s Bluetooth system isn’t compatible with your phone. If the car is an older model, it might not be able to connect to newer phones. Additionally, make sure that all devices are properly charged – a dying battery can often cause signal problems. If you’re still having trouble, it’s also worth restarting your phone and your car’s infotainment system by pressing and holding the Power button until the car logo appears again.
Can I use a Bluetooth adapter to connect to my vehicle?
To power up the Bluetooth car adapter, connect it to the 12V Cigarette Light Plug (auxiliary port) in your vehicle’s lighter socket. Pair your phone with this adaptor using Bluetooth (when pairing is successful, most devices make a sound). There are a few things to keep in mind, however. First, you will need to check to see if your car’s sound system is compatible with the Bluetooth adapter. Second, you will need to make sure that the Bluetooth adapter is powerful enough to reach your car’s sound system. If it is not, you may need to purchase an amplifier in order to boost the signal. Finally, you will need to ensure that your phone is paired withhe Bluetooth adapter before you can use it to play music or make hands-free calls. If you’re having trouble connecting, make sure that the Bluetooth adapter is turned on and in range of your car’s sound system. You should also check the compatibility of your car’s sound system with the Bluetooth adapter.
