Can I change DDR3 to DDR4?
No. You cannot change DDR3 to DDR4 as these memory modules use 288 pins and 240 pins, respectively.
Can I install DDR3 RAM in DDR4 slot?
No. You cannot install DDR3 RAM in DDR4 slot because both consume different volts and moreover it won’t fit onto the motherboard. DDR3 uses 1.5V whereas DDR4 runs on 1.2V
Is DDR4 RAM compatible in a DDR3 RAM slot?
No, DDR3 and DDR4 are not compatible to each other. The position of key notch is different for DDR3 and DDR4 and hence this prevents them to be compatible to each other. Moreover, DDR3 RAM runs on 1.5V using 240-pin connector whereas DDR4 RAM uses 1.2V with 288-pin connector.
